TheaterMax is an authoring environment for theater sound design created in Cycling 74’s Max/MSP programming language. A comprehensive tool for live and pre-recorded sound cues, it offers complex cross-fades; changing of loop points during playback; voice/sound capturing, processing, and panning; multi-channel playback and spatialization; real-time effects processing, equalization and reverberation; variable speed playback; dynamics processing, and more. No ‘outboard’ equipment is required except for standard multichannel audio cards. With TheaterMax, designers can edit levels, mixes, fades, and even processing parameters at any time.
