In 2005, five UCLA REMAP researchers participated in a three-week residency at the Rhodopi International Theater Collective funded by the Trust for Mutual Understanding. There, they conducted digital media workshops for the attendees and local theater company, and began to develop a new theatrical work for Bulgaria's entry into the EU in 2007.

The Collective is an alternative summer training program organized by The Fourth World Laboratory for International Theater Research, in association with the Krustyo Sarafov National Academy for Theater and Film Arts, the Rhodopi Dramatichen Theater, the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb, and The HyperMedia Studio at the University of California, Los Angeles.
