The Illumimote, an original sensor device designed for art and entertainment applications in collaboration with the UCLA Networked & Embedded Systems Laboratory.

REMAP researches individual technologies, collaborative approaches, historical and modern relationships among culture and technology, and new expressive forms drawing from the media and performing arts.

It focuses on transformative technologies that enable pervasive, fluid interfaces among the real and digital worlds. This research generates new creative choices for media and performance, and suggests novel approaches to the use of computing in local communities.

REMAP fuses the theoretical and laboratory approaches of engineering and the sciences with the creative research of artistic production informed by critical theory. The Center drives the creation of new components, systems, and theories by expanding the effective collaborative frameworks of the media and performing arts to engage science and engineering.
